Easy Healthy Big Mac Nachos with McDonald's Sauce

Gentle Tummy

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 white onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 12 ounce bag of tortilla chips
  • 2 cups lettuce (shredded)
  • 2 roma tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/2 cup pickle slices
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Big Mac Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (or powder)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil and onions. Toss the onions to coat and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the ground beef, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and a dash of pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the meat is brown. Drain off the oil and transfer the meat mixture to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Spread the tortilla chips in a single layer in a large sheet pan. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the chips. Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef mixture over the layer of chips followed by the remaining cheese.
Bake the nachos for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • While the nachos are baking, shred the lettuce, dice the Roma tomatoes, and prepare the pickle slices.
  • In a small bowl, combine the 1/2 cup greek yogurt, 2 tbsp avocado oil, 1 tsp mustard powder, 2 tsp maple syrup, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp salt and dash of pepper and whisk until well combined. You can also mix it together in a food processor or blender.
  • Remove the nachos from the oven and immediately top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and pickle slices. Drizzle the big mac sauce over the nachos. Then sprinkle sesame seeds as a garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Chip Shapes: Choose tortilla chips that are relatively flat. If any of the chips are folded in half, simply break them in half to create a flatter surface for all your toppings.
Serving: These nachos taste best when served immediately after assembling.
Seasoning: You can adjust the seasonings and sauce to your taste preference.
